ESI ADOKOWA AIDOO
PRINCIPAL
I am Esi Adokowa, a residential designer with a deep commitment to innovation and a strong foundation rooted in my rich cultural heritage. Born in Edmonton, Alberta, to a Ghanaian microbiologist and a music teacher, I grew up in the Maritimes, where I developed a profound appreciation for the ocean and a love for seafood.
My journey has been as diverse as it is rewarding. I trained in classical piano for over 15 years and now coordinate the music ministry at Saint Albert Catholic Parish, blending my artistic sensibilities with my professional endeavors. My design career has been equally fulfilling, having worked with some of Edmonton’s largest home builders. I graduated with honours from the Architectural Technology program at the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology in 2022, and today, I serve as the Design & Preconstruction Manager for Rescom Homes. In this role, I lead in-house design services with a focus on sustainable, forward-thinking design.
Beyond my responsibilities at Rescom Homes, I am also actively involved in the residential construction industry. I serve on the Builder Technical Committee of BILD Edmonton Metro and chair the Mature Neighbourhood Redevelopment Working Group, advocating for thoughtful, progressive advancements in infill construction.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time with my family, watching NFL football and hockey, savoring meals I didn’t have to prepare, traveling, reading, and immersing myself in art. With a unique blend of creativity, technical expertise, and a passion for community, I am proud to be a driving force in Alberta’s construction industry.
